Our Story

We brought home a puppy. Then we built the manual she didn't come with.

When Penny arrived, we had a 6-year-old, a 9-year-old, and exactly zero idea what we were doing. Every training guide we found was either written for professional handlers or felt like it was made by an algorithm.

So we started documenting everything. Treat recipes developed with exact metric ratios for the perfect texturebut nothing makes the final cut unless it passes Penny's rigorous, tail-wagging taste test. Training redirects timed to the second. Nap schedules built around school pick-ups. Not theoryjust what actually worked on a Tuesday when the kids had homework and Penny had the zoomies.

It turns out a lot of families needed exactly this. Not perfection. Not a lifestyle brand. A system that works when real life is happening.

Penny had a tantrum here, so we switched to a nap. It's fine. It always is.

The Puppy Bite Protocol

Stop the "Landshark" Phase (Without Yelling)

You are currently living with a "Landshark." It feels personal, it hurts, and it feels like it will never end. It will end. But only if you stop listening to old-school advice like "holding their mouth shut" or yelling "NO!" This protocol uses operant conditioning and management to teach your puppy a simple truth: Teeth on skin = the fun stops instantly.

Foolproof Training Treats

The Metric Method

Stop eyeballing ingredients. "One cup of flour" can vary by 30% depending on humidity and how you scooped it. We use grams and ratios. These recipes are designed for high-volume training: non-crumbly, high-value, and rubbery so dogs can swallow them instantly and keep the training flow fast.

Turn Your Sled Dog Into a Polite Walker

The Loose-Leash Framework

Your dog is not pulling because they are dominant. They are pulling because it works. Every time the leash goes tight and you take one step forward, you have taught them: Pulling makes the human go faster. The secret is a rigid system called "Stop & Pivot." We teach your dog that a tight leash is actually a brake pedal.

15 Minutes of Brain Work = 1 Hour of Walking

The "Scent > Speed" Protocol

You cannot tire out a high-energy dog with exercise alone. You are just building a marathon runner. The secret weapon is the Nose. The part of a dog's brain dedicated to smell is 40x larger than ours. The Math: 15 minutes of intense sniffing/brain work is roughly equivalent to a 1-hour walk. Here are 3 DIY games using stuff you already have.

Real families. Real results. No filters.

“We tried three different trainers before finding Life with Penny. The daily schedule alone saved our sanity. It accounts for real life — school runs, nap times, the fact that our toddler drops food on the floor every six minutes.”

Sarah M.

Goldendoodle mom, two kids under 5

“The treat recipes are genuinely brilliant. My dog is allergic to half the commercial treats out there. These are three ingredients, weighed to the gram, and she goes absolutely wild for the pumpkin chews.”

James K.

Labrador owner, first-time dog dad

“What I love is that it’s honest. The schedule has a literal note that says ‘this is where it falls apart, just go for a walk.’ That’s real. That’s what I needed — not some fantasy routine.”
